وقول الله تعالى: وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِالرَّحْمَنِ \[الرعد:30]، الآية.

وفي صحيح البخاري قال علي : "حدثوا الناس بما يعرفون، أتريدون أن يُكذَّب اللهُ، ورسولهُ؟ ".

وروى عبد الرزاق عن معمر عن ابن طاوس عن أبيه عن ابن عباس "أنه رأى رجلا انتفض لما سمع حديثا عن النبي ﷺ في الصفات -استنكارا لذلك– فقال: ما فرق هؤلاء؟ يجدون رقة عند محكمه، ويهلكون عند متشابهه" انتهى.

ولما سمعت قريش رسول الله ﷺ يذكر "الرحمن" أنكروا ذلك، فأنزل الله فيهم: وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِالرَّحْمَنِ \[الرعد:30]
